Tasted at the Trotanoy dinner at Sketch in London. The 1978 Trotanoy was served blind by our host, I am so pleased that he did, because it opened my eyes to what is supposed to be a lesser vintage for the estate. It has a sublime, lilting bouquet of warm summer fruit, singed leather and dried orange peel. It is not a complex wine on the palate, but it is nicely balanced, mellow and with a pleasing, strict, foursquare finish, cedar lingering on the aftertaste. Tasted September 2012. WA 91 pts
